Yesterday my thermometer said 74 Fahrenheit.

Spring peepers tonight

I was pleased to hear spring peepers calling at dusk. I found garlic, onion, kohlrabi, kale, turnip, and carrot growing in my neglected gardenbeds.

The day after the ice storm there was a blizzard.

Yesterday we had freezing rain in the morning which turned to sleet in the afternoon. Today the snow is accumulating rapidly. I haven't gone anywhere!

I checked my garden today to see if anything was still alive. I harvested one purple carrot, which I added to my soup of otherwise storebought ingredients. There is another carrot that is alive, hiding underneath the mulching leaves. There are two kale plants hanging on.

Thanksgiving

I celebrated Thanksgiving by myself this year. I harvested kohlrabi, kale, turnip, broccoli greens, and a purple carrot.
